Racine Yacht Club's 17th annual HOOK Race, which
counts for the 9.1 Lake Michigan Class
Championship series, starts July 22nd at 10 AM.

Entries are running ahead of last year. There are
likely to be 70+ entries, more of them from
Chicago than last year, with 6-9 9.1's in a
division of boats all rating 132-135 or so --
basically an entire one-design division!

This well-organized and well-run event features
good hospitality and a relaxed, festive atmosphere
at both Racine Yacht Club and Sturgeon Bay Yacht
Club. This year two new sponsors are Mount Gay
Rum and Johnson Trust Bank, so there will be a rum
party at the finish and a special Skipper's
Reception at RYC.

Come out and have fun with lots of other good
sailing people, and perhaps take a little vacation
after the race!

Re: RYC's HOOK Race

As of today there are about 50 entries in, and
right now they are arriving in the mail by the
handful.

The last *official* day to have your entry
postmarked to avoid the late entry penalty is July
15th Saturday. Otherwise it is July 19th.

Entry form is available at www.racineyachtclub.org

Come on over & play!
