Does anyone have any information on fabricators for dodgers? Island Nautical tells me they do not have a pattern and currently have no one who can make one. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has a dodger on a 9.1 and can tell me who made it. (Photos would be welcome, too!)

Thanks for the photo, Jeff. I contacted an outfit called Island Nautical (718.885.2295), having seen a new install of theirs on my friends' C&C 30. I don't think you can avoid the halyard issue. I like the looks of their work, so I contacted them. They have patterns for the 9.2A, and are trying to decide whether that will fit my boat.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the furler!

This is all I have.

I don't have any fabricator information that I know of. I just bought the boat and have not put the dodger up yet. Mayber I will find out more in the near future.

In this picture you can see that the dodger snaps down right between the rope stopper and the halyard winch.

I am putting a roller furler on too, even so I don't want to have to deal with something like this every time I want to adjust a halyard.

Jeff, it's good to finally get a response to a year-old query, BUT, do you have any fabricator info on your dodger? As to its location vis a vis winches and rope clutches, we have a furler, so the only issue would be the main halyard. Any chance you could supply of picture of this rig? We'd really appreciate any help on this issue you can provide. Rich Steinacher, Ithaca

I just bought a boat that has a dodger. One thing about the way it is now really bothers me. The forward edge of the dodger snaps down on the deck between the rope stoppers and the halyard winches. This seems like a pain in the ass, just waiting to happen!

How do other people who have dodgers handle the halyards?

I think I am going to have to move the dodger forward and/or move the stoppers (actually I will replace them with clutches) aft. I am still not sure there is enough room. I may have to move the halyard winches aft as well. I am hoping I don't have to do that though.

Any advice on whether or which fabricators to use in procuring a dodger for our '85 9.1? We have just added EZjacks (Wonderful! And no recutting of sailcover!) and a Profurl system (also great!). A dodger seems like a good next step.
