Has anyone had any sucess with determining where the base of the mast should be. One of the guys in the asscociation said to slide it all the way aft. I did it and my new main looked like a very old one. It is now sitting where I started, about the mid point. Any other thoughts?

Loosen shrouds and forestay. Also loosen the plates around the mast at the deck. Position base of mast so that the mast has 3-5 inches of rack. Thighten everthing back up, adjust the shrouds and you are ready for fine fining the rig.
