That is the way my boat is rigged. The upper diagonal goes through the only opening in the upper spreader and through the forward opening in the lower spreader. I run the upper to the outer hole in the forward chainplate, and the intermediate through the aft hole in the lower spreader to the aft chainplate.

I am not sure if this is critical or not, but I would definitely make sure both sides are done the same way.
