I have a current Lewmar catalog from a distributor, in which Lewmar emphasizes that the acrylic (and seal for same) can be replaced. If you look at the frame around the acrylic, you will note that the hatch frame is in two sections - the two sections slide apart, and you replace the acrylic and seal. Sure beats the $500 or so for a complete hatch. If you have a current West Marine catalog, the copy on page 469 describes it pretty well.
