Scott, My boat is on 5 jack stands, not a cradle, but essentially it is all the same thing. My surveyor and I looked at all of the bulkheads for signs of things having moved and couldn't find any. I suspect the yard put the keel down on the blocks before they put the jackstands under the boat. It seems to me that the main stringer at the middle the mast step is actually 2 half stingers which rely on the ability of the mast step to resist compression for strength. The full stringer aft of the mast step seems to only be tied to the mast step by f lag bolts. It may have been tabbed at one point, but I can not find any sign of it now. When you dismantled this area is was this the case? |
