I just refinished my mast this winter. I manage a body shop and had the facilities to use so, why not. This is my second mast that Ive sprayed and I have used PPG's single stage DBC Concept. It is a catalized product and sprays and holds up very well. My experience has been that Imron is a very good product but, paint technology has advanced considerably since it came out many years ago. Many of the acrylic urethanes on the market today are of equal (or better) durablity. I priced out Awlgrip after Strictly Sail and decided that I could strip and paint my mast a couple of times for what they wanted for materials. And besides, I'm sorry, if you slam your mast with the pole while jibing hard enough, Awlgrip, Imron, or Concept is probably going to chip.
