Indecent Proposal and Loki III came in first and second respectively on the 190 mile Around Long Island Race.

Tough upwind conditions on the offshore leg, with 15-20 knots winds on the nose the whole way, and 5-7 feet seas. And just after rounding Montauk light in heavy fog, the wind switched to Southwest for the return down the Long Island Sound side. A few rolling thunderstorms with torrential rain, each time followed by 1-2 knot zephyrs and banks of fog made an interesting night for all crews. It wasn't until the last couple of hours when all the various boats in our division 'appeared' in the mist, making the final dash up to the finish feel more like a regular round the buoys day race. But the results tell the tale - the S2s prevailed !

40 hours of rain, wind, cold cuts and oatmeal, sweaty foulies and seasick crew - we couldn't wait to sign up again for next year !

Both boats are newly owned since last year, and hoping to start an S2 9.1 resurgence in the North East.

Great class website
All the best
