The 2008 NOOD Regatta in Chicago was also the S2 9.1 North American Championship. There were six 9.1’s represented at this year’s NOOD regatta. The breeze was heavy on Friday with winds between 17 and 25 knots all day. Saturday provided a nearly perfect day for sailing with sunny sky’s and 10 to 15 knots of wind. The entire fleet was under a general postponement on Sunday morning while a group of thunderstorms passed. The postponement flag was lowered around 11:00 am and the fleet was sent out for one final race of the regatta. The race started with 15 knots of wind but quickly built to 22-25 during the first leg, which caught all the boats with our #1 headsail up! The race committee in Chicago ran a great regatta. Here are the results from the 2008 NOOD Regatta and the S2 9.1 One Design Championship:

1 Desperado (1,1,1,1,2,1,1) 8
2 Saucy (2,2,2,4,1,2,3) 16
3 Paradox (3,5,3,2,3,3,4) 23
4 Tenacity (4,3,5,3,4,4,2) 25
5 Kahuna (5,4,4,5,6,6,5) 35
6 Truant (6,6,DNC,6,5,5,6) 41

The results are also posted on the Sailing world website:
